Day 9…..I think….I’m losing track!!!
Tuesday 4 October
Higashi Hiroshima: 25 ish and sunny
Today’s class was on particles: wa, ni, o, ga, kara, de and all that stuff that I hate. However, Yamada sensei made it pretty clear.
In the afternoon we had our class briefing on our trip to Hiroshima on Thursday and we had an early finish! YIPPEE!!!! So bikes were borrowed and it was off to Fuji Grand again for a ride.
To get to Fuji Grand, we travel along the river near here. It is a great ride (flat!) and we pass rice fields, traditional and modern houses and the occasional car……just to put my balancing skills to the test!!!
Today is Sue’s birthday, so we are going out for a celebratory dinner to Gyu Kaku….My favourite yaki niku (Korean BBQ) restaurant. Bianca very kindly booked for us on one of her (epic) walks and the birthday girl, Mel, Robyn and I caught a taxi there while the others traversed the rice fields in the dark. Losers!
We had a great meal of thinly sliced meat called calbi, cooked veges on the grill, ate ishi yaki babinba (a Korean rice dish cooked in a stone bowl) and downed it all with either some nama grapefruit sours or nama beer.
From counterclockwise: Tanya, Indra, Ken, Travis and Diana.... |
From counterclockwise: Fi, Dianca (behind range hood), Marg, Anna, the back of Danielle's head, the back of Robyn's head, Sue and Mel..... |
L-R: Kristy, Mel, Sue and Robyn..... |

Back home it was beer on the balcony with Sue, Mel, Travis and Ken. Many a dirty joke was shared and Ken entertained us with his folk song on the way upstairs in the lift.
We left Travis in the computer room looking for new tattoo designs……(*Grin*)…..
