A bike ride, shopping and please don't fart.....

Day 8
Monday 3 October
Higashi Hiroshima: Sunny 25ish

Not such as exciting day….compared with the weekend.

Today consisted of two sessions of classes where we studied keigo  or polite forms of Japanese. This will come in handy for when we visit a high school on Friday and for our home stay (snigger) on Sunday night.

After class today, a group of us headed to the Fuji Grand shopping complex on bikes for some retail therapy. I bought new Skechers and they cost about half the price (or more) than they would have if I bought them in Oz!!!

In the evening we had our Tea Ceremony or cha-no-yu. Never sit next to Mel and Sue when you are participating in a solemn ceremony!! Between Mel’s “I hope I don’t fart” and Sue’s grumbling tummy…..although Travis gave it a good go to!!.....it was hard to keep a straight face!!

The ceremony was accompanied by a traditional Japanese sweet. It and the tea were great!!!
