Not such a happy little Vegemite.....

Day 10 or 11...who knows....
Wednesday 5 October
Higashi Hiroshima: 19 and raining

Ugh. What a miserable day! Upon waking up and looking out the window, it was raining and miserable. Hopefully it is a much better day tomorrow for our excursion to Hiroshima!!

Today in class we learnt about location and how to describe something or someone and what prefixes to use depending on whether or not the person knew what you were talking about. This was something that I had not studied before and it was great to have an understanding of it. Yamada sensei told us it is the kind of thing that you would not find in textbooks!

The afternoon session today was preparation for our school visit. I stupidly mentioned  I had already made a PowerPoint so I was designated as the PowerPoint maker. Ever heard the expression “Too many cooks….” Or “Too many chiefs….”??? That’s pretty much how the afternoon went. Too many people with too many ideas and yelling them out to me was not perhaps the most appropriate way to keep me calm.

In the end, we put together a great PowerPoint. Mel, Travis and Tanya will present it to the school when we arrive. It should be great: it opens to the sounds of AC/DCs “Thunderstruck” and at different points we will sing the Vegemite song and ‘Kookaburra sits on the old gum tree”. We should be a riot!!!!
